Shepherdsville Fire Department provides service from two fire stations, protecting the 12.5 squared mile city of Shepherdsville, KY. On August 12, 2019, the City of Shepherdsville concluded the use of volunteers. We are staffed by part-time and full-time firefighters.

We currently employ a full time fire chief, deputy chief, fire marshal and training officer including an additional 24 full time firefighters who work rotating 24 hour shifts. We also have 18 part time firefighters who work rotating 12 hour shifts.

Our fire department responds to a variety of incidents including fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials spills, gas emergencies, medical emergencies, and technical rescue incidents such as water and ice rescue, confined space rescue, vehicle extrication, etc.

Shepherdsville Fire Department has the only fully equipped swift water rescue team in Bullitt County. Our Swiftwater Rescue Team has been deployed to multiple locations in Bullitt County as well as other locations in Kentucky.

In addition to emergency response, we assist the City with fire and building code enforcement and provide inspections for business occupancies. We also participate in the annual WHAS Crusade for Children in the Spring, Trunk or Treat in the Fall, Breakfast with Santa in the Winter, and many other community and school events throughout the year.
